China’s textile and apparel export data released in the first half of the year


According to data released by the General Administration of Customs on July 13, China’s textile and apparel exports maintained steady growth in the first half of the year. In terms of RMB and U.S. dollars, they increased by 3.3% and 11.9% respectively over the same period last year, and maintained rapid growth compared with the same period in 2019. Among them, textiles declined year-on-year due to the decline in exports of masks, and clothing grew rapidly, driven by the rebound in external demand.

The total value of imports and exports of national trade in goods is calculated in U.S. dollars:

From January to June 2021, the total value of imports and exports of goods trade was US$2,785.2 billion, an increase of 37.4% over the same period last year, and an increase of 28.88% over the same period in 2019, of which exports were US$1518.36 billion, an increase of 38.6%, and an increase of 29.65% over the same period in 2019. Imports amounted to US$ 126.84 billion, an increase of 36%, an increase of 27.96% over the same period in 2019.

In June, foreign trade imports and exports amounted to US$511.31 billion, a year-on-year increase of 34.2%, a month-on-month increase of 6%, and a year-on-year increase of 36.46%. Among them, exports were US$281.42 billion, a year-on-year increase of 32.2%, a month-on-month growth of 6.7%, and an increase of 32.22% over the same period in 2019. Imports were US$229.89 billion, a year-on-year increase of 36.7%, a month-on-month increase of 5.3%, and an increase of 42.03% over the same period in 2019.

Exports of textiles and garments are calculated in US dollars:

From January to June 2021, textile and apparel exports totaled 140.086 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 11.90%, an increase of 12.76% over 2019, of which textile exports were 68.558 billion U.S. dollars, down 7.48%, an increase of 16.95% over 2019, and clothing exports were 71.528 billion U.S. dollars. An increase of 40.02%, an increase of 9.02% over 2019.

In June, textile and apparel exports were US$27.66 billion, down 4.71%, an increase of 13.75% month-on-month, and an increase of 12.24% over the same period in 2019. Among them, textile exports were US$12.515 billion, a decrease of 22.54%, an increase of 3.23% month-on-month, and an increase of 21.40% over the same period in 2019. , Clothing exports were 15.148 billion US dollars, an increase of 17.67%, a month-on-month increase of 24.20%, and an increase of 5.66% over the same period in 2019.
